(1) Subject to subsection (2), an employer shall, after being notified by a female employee that she is pregnant, adapt the working conditions of that employee, or ensure that she is not involved in the use of or exposure to chemicals or substances or conditions of work which are hazardous to her health and the health of the unborn child.
(2) Where alternative work not involving the use or exposure or conditions referred to in subsection (1) is available, such work shall be assigned to the employee during pregnancy with the right of such employee to return to her previous work after the birth of her child.
