2.   Exemption

  1.  

    (1)   Subject to subsection (2), a foreign artist, fashion designer, model, make-up artist, chef, dancer and production crew employed with the Saint Lucia Jazz Festival, Mercury Fest, Roots & Soul Festival, Saint Lucia Carnival, Food & Rum Festival, Arts & Heritage Festival and the Atlantic Rally for Cruisers are exempted from section 318 of the Labour Act, Cap. 16.04 with respect to the requirement for paying a prescribed fee for a work permit.

  1.  

    (2)   The exemption granted under subsection (1) is —

    1.  

      (a)     applicable for a period of two years commencing from the 18th day of April, 2019 and terminating on the 17th day of April, 2021;

    1.  

      (b)     subject to the conditions that Events Company of St. Lucia Inc. —

      1.  

        (i)     submits to the Department of Labour a full list of the foreign artists, fashion designers, models, make-up artists, chefs, dancers and production crew to benefit from the exemption,

      1.  

        (ii)     complies with the monitoring requirements of the Ministry of Tourism, Information and Broadcasting, Culture and Creative Industries.
