871. Proceeding on pleas other than plea of guilty
Unless it is otherwise expressly provided in this Code, if the accused pleads any plea, other than the plea of guilty, he or she is, by such plea without any further form, deemed to have demanded that the issues raised by such plea shall be tried by a jury and is entitled to have them tried accordingly.
