(1) This Act does not affect the rights or claims of any person who prior to the coming into operation of this Act shall have performed service in any Fire Brigade and shall have been entitled to a pension, gratuity, or allowance by virtue of that service under the National Insurance Corporation Act or any other enactment making provision for the payment of a pension, gratuity or allowance.
(2) After the commencement of this Act the rights or claims of any person to a pension or gratuity in respect of service performed as a member of the Fire Service shall be settled in accordance with the provisions of the National Insurance Corporation Act subject to such adaptations and modifications to that Act as shall be made by regulations under this Act and as shall be required in consequence of the passing of this Act.
