15.   Training

  1.  

    (1)   Every member of the Fire Service from the rank of station officer and below unless he or she is generally excused or excused as to some particular aspect of training shall undergo training in fire fighter's duties appropriate to his or her rank and the frequency of such training the days on which such training shall take place and the duration of such training shall be determined by the Chief Fire Officer.

    (2)   A member of the Fire Service who is over 50 years of age shall not be required to take part or continue to take part in any aspect of training which in the opinion of the Chief Fire Officer is physically exhausting or will be physically exhausting if continued.

    (3)   For the purpose of these Regulations training shall include the following—

    1.  

      (a)     all drills mentioned in the Fire Service, drill book;

    1.  

      (b)     pump drills wet and dry;

    1.  

      (c)     ladder drills;

    1.  

      (d)     escape drills;

    1.  

      (e)     carrying down drills in the most up to date techniques and subject to any specified safety device then in use in the Fire Service and practical rescue drills;

    1.  

      (f)     combined drills including foam drills;

    1.  

      (g)     hose drills;

    1.  

      (h)     ambulance drills including stretcher drills;

    1.  

      (i)     pump operation and fault finding;

    1.  

      (j)     training with respect to knots and lines;

    1.  

      (k)     fire boat drills and exercises;

    1.  

      (l)     rowing, sculling, steering and navigation;

    1.  

      (m)     communication exercises;

    1.  

      (n)     first aid exercises;

    1.  

      (o)     fitness training;

    1.  

      (p)     squad drill;

    1.  

      (q)     watch room procedure;

    1.  

      (r)     lectures and films on fire service matters;

    1.  

      (s)     driving and other lectures and exercises concerning mechanical equipment used by the Fire Service;

    1.  

      (t)     continuous exercise during day and night or vice versa;

    1.  

      (u)     any other training conducive to the efficiency of the Fire Service which will appear in standing orders.
