The funeral expenses of any member of the Fire Service dying while serving in the Fire Service and of any member of the Fire Service dying from any accident, injury or illness suffered or incurred while in the performance of his or her duty shall subject to such amount as shall be prescribed by regulations under this Act be payable out of the Consolidated Fund on the warrant of the Chief Fire Officer.
