The Chief Fire Officer or other officer prescribed shall in respect of offences within the provisions of section 15 have the same powers in respect of securing the attendance of witnesses and their examination upon oath and otherwise as are conferred upon a magistrate under the Code of Civil Procedure, and the Criminal Code.
