(1) The Chief Fire Officer may make charges in accordance with this regulation for any special services requested by any person for purposes other than fire fighting purposes.
(2) Whenever the services of the Fire Service are requested by any person for purposes other than fire fighting purposes that person shall be required to sign an agreement in writing and to pay for such services.
However, if the signing of any such agreement would cause delay endangering life or property the special services of the Fire Service may be rendered and the agreement signed when circumstances permit.
(3) Any special service which in the opinion of the Chief Fire Officer or the officer in charge of a station is of a humanitarian nature shall be rendered free of charge.
(4) The charges for the special services of the Fire Services shall be set out in the Schedule and shall be shown on the forms of agreement required to be signed by persons requiring the special services. (Substituted by Act 74 of 1997)
(5) This regulation does not prejudice any right of the Government or any member of the service to participate in the proceeds of any salvage claim.
