(1) In addition to a medical examination, every applicant to the Fire Service must submit himself or herself to an aptitude and strength test conducted by the Chief Fire Officer and must satisfy the Chief Fire Officer in the test before being considered for enlistment for the Fire Service.
(2) If the applicant satisfies the Chief Fire Officer in the test so conducted and any other requirements provided by the Act and satisfactorily passes a medical examination the Chief Fire Officer may enlist the applicant.
