(1) There is hereby established a Fire Service to be known as the Saint Lucia Fire Service which shall consist of such number of members as may be approved by the Cabinet and enlisted in the Fire Service.
(2) Every person who immediately before the commencement of this Act held or was acting in the office of a whole-time member of a Fire Brigade shall as from the commencement of this Act continue in service as members of the Fire Service and be subject to the provisions of this Act.
