(1) The Chief Fire Officer or any other senior officer of the Fire Service may in case of fire, request the Commissioner of Police to detail a sufficient number of the Force to attend a fire for the purpose of assisting the Fire Service in the execution of their duties under this Act, and on receipt of such request the Commissioner of Police shall make available a sufficient number of members as requested.
(2) Every police officer detailed for duty under the provisions of subsection (1) shall serve as if he or she were, and whilst so serving shall, for the purposes of this Act be deemed to be a member of such Service.
