(1) A fire fighter enlisted in the Fire Service shall not be at liberty to leave the Fire Service until the expiration of the period of probation or resign therefrom unless he or she obtains the permission of the Governor General.
(2) The Governor General may grant permission to any member of the Fire Service to resign from or leave the service at any time.
