(1) A society shall hold an annual meeting in each year not later than 3 months after the end of the financial year of the society.
(2) Despite subsection (1) and despite that the time for holding a general meeting as required by this section has expired, where the Registrar receives a written request from the board, he or she may authorise the society to hold the annual general meeting at any date not later than 6 months after the end of the financial year of the society if he or she considers it appropriate.
(3) The by-laws may provide for holding semi-annual or other periodic meetings.
