175.   Continuation of actions

  1.  

    (1)   Despite the dissolution of a society under this Act—

    1.  

      (a)     a civil, criminal or administrative action or proceeding commenced by or against the society before its dissolution may be continued as if the society had not been dissolved; and

    1.  

      (b)     a civil, criminal or administrative action or proceeding may be brought against the society within 2 years after its dissolution as if the society had not been dissolved; and

    1.  

      (c)     any property that would have been available to satisfy any judgement or order if the society had not been dissolved remains available for that purpose.

    (2)   Service of a document on a society after its dissolution may be effected by serving the document on a person shown on the records of the Registrar as one of the last directors of the society.

    (3)   Despite the dissolution of a society, a person to whom any of its property has been distributed is liable to any person claiming under subsection (1) to the extent of the amount received by that person on the distribution with respect to any share of the society that person held, and an action to enforce such liability may be brought within 2 years after the date of dissolution of the society.
