19.   Power to make arrangements

  1.  

    (1)   The Corporation may, after consultation with the Minister, make arrangements with a company, firm, partnership or local government authority for the purpose of enabling such body to—

    1.  

      (a)     provide housing accommodation for low income households;

    1.  

      (b)     provide housing accommodation to relocate persons displaced—

      1.  

        (i)     by government action under any law,

      1.  

        (ii)     by a settlement clearance or redevelopment scheme,

      1.  

        (iii)     by the demolition of a building under section 17, or

      1.  

        (iv)     in response to a natural disaster or other emergency;

    1.  

      (c)     alter, repair or improve a house or building which the Corporation has acquired or has an interest in, with a view to providing or improving housing accommodation for low income households.

  1.  

    (2)   The Corporation may, after consultation with the Minister, create a subsidiary company to undertake any of the functions of the Corporation.
