16.   Functions of Corporation

The functions of the Corporation are—

  1.  

    (a)     to acquire, hold and manage land and other property of any kind and sell, let, lease or otherwise dispose of any land or other property on such terms and conditions as the Corporation determines, after consultation with the Minister;

  1.  

    (b)     to ensure the development, building, maintenance, repair, and improvement of operations relating to housing and settlement development schemes;

  1.  

    (c)     to ensure that water, electricity, sewage and other services are adequately provided in housing and development schemes;

  1.  

    (d)     to carry on any business or undertaking in, or for the purposes of, any housing development;

  1.  

    (e)     to ensure the implementation of plans for settlement clearance and redevelopment; and

  1.  

    (f)     to carry out such other functions as may be conferred upon it by the Minister for the purposes of this Act.
