312.   Certificates issued by other governments

    (1)   The Minister may request the Government of a country which is a party to the Load Lines Convention to issue an International Load Line Certificate in respect of a Saint Lucian ship and a certificate so issued and containing a statement that it was so issued shall have effect for the purposes of this Part as if the certificate had been issued by the Minister.

    (2)   Where a valid Load Line Certificate issued under subsection (1) is produced in respect of a ship, that ship shall, for the purposes of this Part, be deemed to have been surveyed under the Load Line Regulations, and if the deck line and Load Lines correspond with the marks specified in the certificate, the ship shall be deemed to be marked as required by this Part.
