(1) A person commits an offence who —
(a) assaults, resists, intimidates or obstructs a traffic officer in the execution of his or her duties under this Part or the regulations; or
(b) knowingly or recklessly makes any false or misleading statement either orally or in writing to a traffic officer engaged in exercising his or her powers under this Part or the Regulations.
(2) A person who commits an offence under this section is liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding $2,000 or imprisonment not exceeding 6 months or both. (Substituted by Act 10 of 2006)
