1. Each plate shall be rectangular in shape and shall bear upon it such capital letters as may be assigned by the Licensing Authority, and the identification mark shall conform to the details contained in regulation 6.
2. The background of the plate shall be white with letter and numbers red.
3. All numbers and letters must be 3 ½ inches; every part of every letter and number must be 5/8 of an inch broad; and the total width of space taken by every letter or number except in the case of the figure 1 must be 2½ inches.
4. The space between adjoining figures must be ½ inch, and there must be a margin between the nearest part of any letter or number and the top and bottom of the plate of at least ½ inch, and between the nearest part of any letter or number and the sides of the plate of at least one inch.
