62.   Substitution of terms

  1.  

    (1)   The expressions “lunatic patient” or “lunatic” shall cease to be used in relation to any person of or alleged to be of unsound mind and there shall be substituted for those expressions wherever they occur in any law or regulation in force in Saint Lucia or in any other document issued under any such law or regulation the expressions “persons of unsound mind”, “persons”, “patient”, “mental patient”, “patient of unsound mind” or such other expression as the context may require.

    (2)   Asylums and places appointed under section 30 shall cease to be called “Criminal Lunatic Asylums” and shall hereafter be called and referred to as “Mental Hospitals for Inmates”, and accordingly, for references to criminal lunatic asylums (by whatever name called) in any enactment there shall be substituted references to mental hospitals for inmates.

    (3)   The expression “criminal lunatic” shall cease to be used; and there shall be substituted for it wherever it occurs in any enactment the expression “inmate of unsound mind”.
