53.   Release and sending back of person ceasing to be of unsound mind

In case any person transferred as a person of unsound mind from any such other island to this island under the provisions of this Act ceases to be of unsound mind while in this island and such fact is certified by 2 duly qualified medical practitioners one of whom shall be in the Government service or by a Commission in Unsoundness of Mind such person shall be released from confinement and may also claim to be sent back to the island whence he or she was removed, at the expense in the first instance of the Government of this island. However, no application to be sent back as aforesaid shall be entertained unless such application is made within 6 months after the release of such person from confinement.
