42.   Ill-treating patients in mental hospital

Any medical officer, officer, nurse, attendant, servant, or other person employed in any mental hospital who strikes, ill-treats or wilfully neglects any patient confined in such hospital commits an offence against this Act and on summary conviction thereof before any magistrate may be fined in any sum not exceeding $96, or imprisoned for any term not exceeding 6 months, with or without hard labour, or subject to the limitations aforesaid, punished both by fine and imprisonment.
