(1) Subject to subsections (2) and (3), the Board consists of no more than 5 members to be appointed by the Minister after consultation with —
(a) the Saint Lucia Manufacturers' Association;
(b) the Saint Lucia Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture;
(c) the Saint Lucia Bar Association; and
(d) the National Consumers Association (Saint Lucia) Inc. or similar associations.
(2) The Board consists of —
(a) a member who has knowledge and experience in industry;
(b) a member who has knowledge and experience in commerce;
(c) a member who is an attorney-at-law of at least 7 years standing who shall be the Chairperson of the Board;
(d) a member who has knowledge and experience in public administration;
(e) a member who has knowledge and experience in consumer protection.
(3) The Minister appoints one of the members of the Board to be the Chairperson and another member to be the Deputy Chairperson of the Board.
(4) The Director is ex officio, Secretary to the Board and his or her absence, the Chairperson may delegate any other member to act as Secretary.
(5) A member holds office for a period not exceeding 3 years, and is eligible for reappointment.
