(1) A person shall not, in the course of trade or commerce, advertise for supply, at a specified price, goods or a service which that person —
(a) does not intend to offer for supply; or
(b) has no reasonable grounds for believing he or she can supply, immediately or within a reasonable time,
at that price, for a period and in quantities that are unreasonable, having regard to the nature of the market in which the person carries on business and the nature of the advertisement.
(2) A person who contravenes this section commits an offence and is liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding $2,000 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 6 months or to both.
