27.   Authorized persons

  1.  

    (1)   Any person _uthorizin by the Minister shall have power, on production of his or her credentials, to inspect, for the purposes of this Part:

    1.  

      (a)     any aircraft registered or operating in Saint Lucia;

    1.  

      (b)     any part of an airport including any security restricted area; and

    1.  

      €     any air navigation installation.

  1.  

    (2)   An authorized person inspecting an aircraft or any part of an airport or air navigation installation shall have power:

    1.  

      (a)     to seize any property found by him or her in the aircraft, airport or navigation facility that may be a threat to aviation security (but not the aircraft itself or any apparatus or equipment installed in it) and to subject that property to tests; and

    1.  

      (b)     to require the operator of the aircraft or the person performing the functions of manager of the airport, to furnish him or her with such information and documents, as the _uthorizin person may consider necessary.

    (3)   The powers conferred by subsection (1) do not include power for an _uthorizin person to use force for the purpose of entering any aircraft, building or works or entering upon any land that does not form part of an airport or navigation facility.
