100.   Power to prohibit or restrict flying

  1.  

    (1)   Where the Authority deems it necessary in the public interest to prohibit flying by reason of—

    1.  

      (a)     the intended gathering or movement of a large number of persons;

    1.  

      (b)     the intended holding of an aircraft race or contest or of an exhibition in flying; or

    1.  

      (c)     national defense or any other reason affecting the public interest; the Authority may by notice in writing published in the Gazette issue directions prohibiting, restricting or imposing conditions on flight by any aircraft, whether or not registered in Saint Lucia, in any airspace over Saint Lucia, or by aircraft registered in Saint Lucia, in any other airspace, being airspace in respect of which the Government of Saint Lucia has in pursuance of international arrangements undertaken to provide navigation services for aircraft.

    (2)   Directions issued pursuant to this regulation may apply either generally or in relation to any class of aircraft.
