(1) Subject to the following sub-regulations, any person who on the date these Regulations come into operation holds a valid document issued under the law in force on that date for the registration, operation or maintenance of an aircraft shall be deemed to hold a document in accordance with these Regulations for a period not exceeding 12 months from the date these Regulations come into operation, unless the document expires prior to the end of that period.
(2) Within 3 months from the date these Regulations come into operation or before a document expires, every holder of a document referred to sub-regulation (1) shall supply to the Director General full details of his or her document and apply to the Director General for a new document pursuant to these Regulations.
(3) Where the Director General, having reviewed a document supplied pursuant to sub-regulation (2), is satisfied that the document was validly issued under the law in force in Saint Lucia before the commencement of these Regulations, the Director General shall, within 6 months of the date of such notification issue a document to that person for at least the unexpired term of the original document but otherwise subject to conditions determined by the Director General.
(4) If the Director General is not satisfied, for any reason, that a document notified to it pursuant to sub-regulation (2) was validly issued or that the holder of the document is still qualified to hold the document, it shall so notify the person concerned and the document in question shall expire on the date of notification.
