2. Interpretation
In this Act unless the context otherwise requires—
“cocoa” means cocoa beans, whether in the pod or pulp or separated from the pulp, or whether cured or uncured, ripe or unripe;
“coconuts” means ripe or dry coconuts, husked or not husked, the kernel or copra and includes coconut oils;
“coffee” means coffee in pulp or cherry and raw coffee in the parchment but not raw, cleaned coffee;
“district” means a magisterial district;
“licensable produce” includes the agricultural produce set out in Schedule 1 and such other agricultural produce as the Governor General, by proclamation, may direct to be included in such term;
“licensed dealer” means a person licensed under this Act to deal in licensable produce;
“licensed huckster” means a person licensed under this Act to export licensable produce to Guyana and West Indian Islands other than Bermuda;
“licensed pedlar” means a person licensed under this Act to peddle licensable produce;
“licensed seller” means an owner of any plantation or land licensed under this Act to sell and export the licensable produce derived from such plantation or land;
“limes” means lime fruit whether ripe, green or pickled, lime juice and lime oils;
“logwood” means logwood deprived of bark and sapwood as prepared for commercial purposes;
“owner” includes the tenant or person in actual possession of, and the manager or other person having chief authority on, any plantation or land;
“peddle” means selling otherwise than in a building, but shall be deemed to include selling in any parlour or market. For the purpose of this section “parlour” means a small shop carrying a stock not exceeding $144 in value;
“personal representative” means the heir, executor, or other person duly authorised by law to administer the estate of a deceased person;
“produce inspector” means an officer appointed under the provisions of section 45;
“purchase” includes barter;
“sell” includes barter and offering or exposing for sale;
“weigh” includes measuring, counting and otherwise ascertaining quantity.
