7.   Periodic verification of Saint Lucia's primary standards

    (1)   Subject to subsection (2), the Minister shall, once at least every period of 10 years, cause such Saint Lucia primary standards as he or she considers necessary, to be verified at a specified standards laboratory.

    (2)   Before any Saint Lucia primary standard of any unit of measurement is sent out of Saint Lucia for such purpose, the Minister shall cause a Secondary Standard of that unit of measurement to be verified by comparison with such Saint Lucia primary standard and to be authenticated in such manner as the Minister may direct and to be placed in the custody of the custodian of Saint Lucia Standards, and such secondary standard shall, during such time as the Saint Lucia Standard is out of Saint Lucia, be deemed to be a Saint Lucia primary standard.
