(1) Subject to section 31, an attorney at law is not entitled as of right to appear in any proceedings before a coroner, but the coroner may if he or she thinks fit, on application, allow such appearance.
(2) Counsel appearing under section 31, may not take any other part in the inquest without leave of the coroner and is not entitled, if an inquest is held in private, to be present except when the person he or she is appearing on behalf of, is giving evidence.
