2. Interpretation
In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires—
“burial” includes cremation;
“coroner” includes deputy coroner;
“district” means a judicial district established under the District Courts Act;
“inquest” means an investigation held by a coroner as to the death of any person;
“medical practitioner” means any person registered as such under the Medical Registration Act;
“proper officer” includes the Registrar, clerk of the district court, sheriff or other officer or person appointed or deputed to perform any particular act or duty;
“Registrar” means the Registrar of the High Court;
“unnatural death” includes every case of the death of a person—

(a) which occurs in a sudden, violent or unnatural manner;

(b) when a dead body is found;

(c) as to which any reasonable suspicion exists-

(i) that it has not arisen from natural causes,
-
(ii) that any person is criminally responsible therefor.
