(1) Despite section 50 the Minister may by order suspend or abolish corporal punishment in public schools and assisted schools.
(2) An order made under subsection (1) shall be laid before Parliament, within 3 months of the date of the issue of such order and shall cease to have effect, without prejudice to the making of a further order, on its annulment by a resolution of Parliament supported by the votes of a majority of the members present and voting.
