(1) Every child shall attend school from the beginning of the school year in which that child attains the age of 5 years until the end of the school year in which that child attains the age of 15 years.
(2) Despite subsection (1), if the Minister is satisfied that it has become necessary or expedient to raise or lower the compulsory school age, the Minister may, by order, subject to affirmative resolution of the Parliament within 60 days of the making of the order, direct that subsection (1) have effect as if for references therein there were substituted a reference to any age prescribed in the order.
