10.   Duration of copyright in sound recording and films

    (1)   Copyright in a sound recording or film expires at the end of the period of 50 years from the end of the calendar year in which it was made, or where it is made available to the public before the end of that period, at the end of the period of 50 years from the end of the calendar year in which it is so made available.

    (2)   For the purposes of subsection (1) a sound recording or film is made available to the public when it is first published, broadcast or included in a cable programme service, so, however, that in determining whether a sound recording or film has been made available to the public, any unauthorised act shall be disregarded.
