150.   Restrictions on the entry and search of domestic premises

    (1)   Domestic premises shall not be entered and searched by a police officer unless a magistrate has issued a warrant under subsection (2).

    (2)   A magistrate may, if he or she is satisfied by information on oath that there is reasonable ground for suspecting that there is in any domestic premises any article which may be seized, removed or detained under any provision of this Act, issue a warrant authorising a police officer not below the rank of Inspector to enter and search the premises.

    (3)   A police officer not below the rank of Inspector authorised under subsection (2) to enter and search any premises may call upon any police officer to assist him or her in entering and searching the premises.

    (4)   In this section “domestic premises” means any premises or any part thereof, used exclusively or mainly as a dwelling.
