(1) The principal of a public school, an assisted school and the proprietor or principal of a private educational institution shall keep the institution open at all times during school hours to visits and inspections—
(a) by the Minister;
(b) by the Chief Education Officer; or
(c) by any other person authorised in writing by the Minister or the Chief Education Officer to visit or inspect the institution.
(2) Any person who, under subsection (1), inspects an educational institution may at the request of the Chief Education Officer examine the students in the subjects of instruction taught at the institution.
