(1) The Council shall consist of 9 members, as follows—
(a) the Chief Medical Officer or his or her nominee appointed by writing under his or her hand to represent him or her at any meeting and the Chief Nursing Officer, who are the ex officio members;
(b) two persons other than medical practitioner appointed by the Minister;
(c) one medical practitioner appointed by the Medical Association of Saint Lucia;
(d) four nurses at least 2 of whom shall be nurse midwives elected by the Saint Lucia Nurses Association.
(2) It is the duty of the Council to give due notice to the persons or bodies concerned of all necessary appointments or elections.
