20.   Duty of midwife to report deaths and births

If a person who has been attended by a midwife shall within 14 days of being so attended, die or give birth, it is the duty of the midwife, within 72 hours of the death or birth, as the case may be, to make a report to the Chief Medical Officer, and any midwife who fails to comply with the provisions of this section commits an offence.
