76.   Penalty on officer of registered society using improper seal

If any officer of a registered society, or any person on behalf of a registered society—

  1.  

    (a)     uses any seal purporting to be the seal of the society, whereon its name is not so engraved as hereinbefore provided;

  1.  

    (b)     issues or authorises the issue of any notice, advertisement, or other official publication of the society, or signs or authorises to be signed on behalf of the society any bill of exchange, promissory note, endorsement, cheque, or order for money or goods; or

  1.  

    (c)     issues or authorises the issue of any bill of parcels, invoice, receipt, or letter of credit of the society, wherein its name is not mentioned in manner aforesaid,

    he or she is liable to a penalty not exceeding $240, and shall further be personally liable to the holder of any such bill of exchange, promissory note, cheque, or order for money or goods for the amount thereof, unless the same is duly paid by the society.
