CHAPTER 3
PROCEEDINGS CONSEQUENT ON ORDER

552.   First meeting of creditors

Within 14 days after a receiving order has been made against a debtor, the receiver shall summon a meeting of his or her creditors at such place as he or she may think most convenient, and shall invite such creditors as have duly proved their claims to vote either in person or by proxy, upon the following matters—

  1.  

    (a)      whether a proposal for a composition or scheme of arrangement shall be entertained;

    (b)      whether it is expedient that the debtor shall be adjudged bankrupt; and generally

  1.  

    (c)     how the debtor's property can be most satisfactorily dealt with and realised.
