(1) It shall not be necessary for an auction sale of property in the undermentioned cases to be conducted by a person licensed, or otherwise authorised by law, to act as an auctioneer (that is to say), an auction sale of movable or immovable property—
(a) belonging to the Crown;
(b) belonging to any town or village;
(c) sold under any judgment, order, decree or process of any Court, or by authority of any Court, Judge or Magistrate;
(d) sold for the recovery of any rates or taxes;
(e) sold under any customs or other law, as being forfeited to Her Majesty;
(f) sold by or by authority of a Receiver of Wreck, or a Head of a Government Department;
(g) sold by a pound-keeper.
(2) In every such case the sale shall be deemed to have the same effect as if it had been conducted by a duly licensed auctioneer unless it is otherwise by law expressly provided.
