Where a policy contains a clause giving the insurers the right of reinstatement in lieu of paying the amount of the loss to the assured, the insurers may elect to reinstate; but an election once made is binding on the insurers, notwithstanding that circumstances have intervened making the reinstatement more difficult or expensive.
