(1) Insurance effected by a person on his or her own life is void if he or she dies by the hands of justice, by duelling, or by suicide, unless these contingencies are specially included in the risk.
(2) Where a life insured is feloniously taken by any person interested in the policy, the interest of such person thereupon absolutely ceases.
