31.   Cash deposits, payments and signing of cheques

  1.  

    (1)   All moneys of the Board accruing from its operations under this Act shall be paid into some bank or banks appointed by resolution of the Board, and such moneys shall as far as practicable be paid into the bank from day to day, except such sum as the General Manager may be authorised by rules made under section 32 to retain for the purpose of meeting petty disbursements or immediate payments.

    (2)   All payments out of the funds of the Board except petty disbursements not exceeding a sum to be fixed by rules made under section 32 shall be made by the General Manager or on his or her behalf by any other officer appointed by the Board in accordance with any such rules.

    (3)   Cheques against any bank account required to be kept or withdrawals from any savings bank account not exceeding $1,000 shall be signed by the General Manager and the Accountant.

    (4)   Any cheque against any bank account required to be kept or any withdrawal from any savings account exceeding $1,000 shall be signed by the General Manager and at least one director.
