29.   Protection of officers when acting without malice

In any action against any person for anything purporting to have been done in pursuance of the provisions of this Act, or of any regulation under this Act, there shall be judgment for the defendant unless the plaintiff has alleged and proved that the act complained of was done maliciously and without reasonable and probable cause; and to any such action the defendant may plead a general denial and give in evidence under such plea any special matter of defence; and no such action shall be brought except within 3 months after the act complained of or until one month after notice in writing shall have been given to the defendant of the cause of action, the name and place of abode of the plaintiff, the name of the plaintiff's solicitor, and of the time, place and other full particulars of all acts in respect of which such action is to be commenced.
