(1) The Governor General shall establish, for the purposes of this Act a Rent Assessment Board to exercise the powers conferred and perform the duties imposed by this Act.
(2) The chairperson of the Board is the Magistrate of the First Judicial District or such other person as the Governor General may appoint.
(3) The Governor General shall appoint a panel of persons not exceeding 10 in number who shall be called Rent Assessors.
(4) The Board, at any sitting thereof, shall consist of the chairperson and 2 Rent Assessors who shall be selected by the chairperson from the panel appointed under subsection (3).
(5) The Rent Assessors shall in respect of each occasion on which they may sit as members of the Board be entitled to such remuneration as the Governor General may determine.
(6) All appointments under this section shall be during the Governor General's pleasure.
(7) A person shall not sit as a member of the Board in any matter in which, if he were a judge or magistrate, he or she would be disqualified from acting on the ground of interest.
(8) The establishment of the Board and all appointments shall be published in the Gazette.
