22. False entry in rent book
If any person in any rent book or similar document makes any entry showing or purporting to show any lessee as being in arrear in respect of any sum which by virtue of this Act is irrecoverable, or where any such entry has before 1 August 1944 been made by or on behalf of any lessor, if the lessor on being requested by or on behalf of the lessee so to do refuses or neglects to cause the entry to be deleted, that person or lessor commits an offence and is liable to a fine of $100 on in default of payment to imprisonment with or without hard labour for a term not exceeding 3 months.
