18. Statement as to standard rent to be supplied
The lessor of any premises to which this Act applies shall, on being requested in writing by the lessee thereof, supply him or her with a statement in writing as to what is the standard rent of such premises, and if without reasonable excuse he or she fails within 14 days to do so, or supplies a statement which is false in any material particular, he or she commits an offence against this Act and is liable on summary conviction to a fine of $50 or in default of payment to imprisonment with or without hard labour for a term not exceeding 3 months.
