DISTRICT COURT RULES (CIVIL SIDE) – SECTION 54

  1.  

    (1)   The following rules of practice shall apply to written civil proceedings—

    1.  

      (a)     Every written proceeding in a district court shall be prepared either by the party himself or herself on whose behalf it is tendered, or by a attorney-at-law;

    1.  

      (b)     Every written proceeding prepared by a party for a district court shall be wholly written out by such party or his or her clerk, and shall be signed by such party;

      (c)     Every written proceeding prepared by a attorney-at-law for a district court shall have written on the margin of the first page thereof the words “prepared by me” which words shall be signed by such attorney-at-law after whose name shall be the word “attorney-at-law”.

    (2)   Every officer of a district court shall take every precaution in seeing the carrying out of these rules, and shall reject any proceeding which has not been prepared in conformity thereto.

    (3)   These rules shall not apply to any district if and while there is no attorney-at-law therein.
