7.   Giving of certificate of unfitness for vaccination

  1.  

    (1)   If any medical officer or other public vaccinator is of opinion that any unvaccinated child, at a time when vaccination is obligatory under the provisions of this Act, is not in a fit state to be vaccinated, he or she shall inform the parent of such child of the same, and shall, within 7 days, forward to the registrar of the district in which the child resides a certificate under his or her hand, according to Form 2 in the Schedule, or to the like effect; and such certificate shall remain in force for 2 months, and shall be renewable for successive periods of 2 months, until a medical officer or other public vaccinator considers the child to be in a fit state for vaccination, when the child shall with all reasonable despatch be vaccinated, and the certificate mentioned in the last preceding section shall be forwarded, if warranted by the result.

    (2)   At or before the end of each successive period, the parent shall take the child or cause it to be taken to the medical officer or other public vaccinator, who shall then examine the child and forward the certificate according to the said Form 2, whenever he or she considers it requisite under the circumstances of the case.
